Coyote Ugly Saloon to Host Military Appreciation Events During May

Coyote Ugly Saloon, who stomped up a storm in the Gaslamp Quarter with the Grand Opening of their first California location in early February, is giving back in big ways during the month of May in honor of Military Appreciation Month.

“We knew we wanted to do something really special for our first Military Appreciation Month in San Diego,” said Mac McAlister, General Manager of Coyote Ugly Saloon. “Coyote Ugly currently has 24 locations worldwide and proudly employs many former members of the military. It is an honor for us to be able to give back to those men and women who selflessly serve our country.”
Coyote Ugly’s military appreciation events include:
Operation Courage is Beautiful: Locally, the saloon has partnered with Operation Courage is Beautiful, a San Diego nonprofit that sends care packages to deployed military women each year. With the help of donations, the saloon will send Coyote Care Packages to women currently serving overseas.

Throughout the entire month of May, bar patrons are encouraged to bring in day-to-day items such as sunblock, conditioner and soap. Coyote Ugly will gift each guest who donates a VUP Card, which offers guests a buy one get one free drink pass that can be redeemed at any time. If patrons wish to include Coyote Ugly apparel in the care packages, the saloon will offer a discounted price on hats, shirts and accessories. Coyote Ugly will also provide stationary for those who want to show their support by personalizing donations with a hand written letter of appreciation.
“We are very excited to have the support of Coyote Ugly, a San Diego business that employs some of our very own female veterans and military spouses. With the incredible contribution that women in the military have made, it is essential that we as a community continue to support them with their individual needs in mind.” – Cindy Chan, Founder of Operation Courage is Beautiful.

Military Spouse Appreciation Night: On Friday, May 9 Coyote Ugly will host a Military Spouse Appreciation Night. All Active Duty military and their spouses are invited to celebrate and receive a complimentary appetizer of choice with proof of their military or dependent identification card.

Memorial Day Weekend Specials: From Friday May 23 through Monday May 26 all Veterans, Active Duty and military spouses will receive $1 off all drinks all weekend long. Coyote Ugly Saloon, located at 820 Fifth Avenue in the Gaslamp Quarter, is open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
