Audrey Doherty

Founder & President

Idea generator. Influence strategist. Creative connector.

Two decades rich with public relations and marketing experience under her belt, Audrey’s still making waves with her astute business acumen, relentless energy, and the eyes to point out emerging trends. Emanating full confidence and charisma, Audrey masters major all disciplines across the board: strategic planning, media relations, social media, marketing, business-to-business, promotions, sponsorships, and special events. Her experience dives deep into many attractive verticals: commercial and residential real estate, travel, restaurants, consumer products and services, architecture and interior design.

Beyond founding and manning the helm of Chemistry PR, Audrey serves as Executive Director of the San Diego Building Owners & Managers Association—the city’s commanding voice in commercial real estate. She oversees public relations and marketing, membership services, community outreach and special events planning for more than two dozen annual commercial real estate events and educational programs.

Audrey is also proud to have earned esteemed Silver Bernays Awards from the Public Relations Society of America, San Diego Chapter. Her accolades stretch across multiple categories including Best Consumer Service Launch, Best Creative Tactic, Best Institutional Program, Best Travel, Tourism and Hospitality B2B Program, and Best Public Affairs Program.

Premier publications San Diego Business Journal and The Daily Transcript have published articles Audrey’s penned around issues and trends impacting the real estate and hospitality industries. She’s also frequented the sets of televisions news programs for NBC 7/39, KUSI, KGTV, KFMB and FOX5 News, sharing her insightful perspectives on public relations as well as representing clients.

Prior to opening the doors of Chemistry PR, Audrey harnessed her skills via multiple leadership roles at San Diego and Los Angeles agencies as well as going independent as a PR consultant. In these early years, her knowledge grew rapidly in launching and successfully running media tours, press trips, print and broadcast promotions and special events for well-known names in the travel, restaurant, and lifestyle segments.

Audrey is a University of California Los Angeles graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies. She is also Past President of the Public Relations Society of America, San Diego Chapter and serves on the Advisory Board of the Center for Community Solutions.

Marisa Romero

Senior Account Executive

Curiosity curator. Events orchestrator. Community motivator.

Marisa harvests thought-provoking, insightful brand strategies like no other, molding them into power-packed solutions and all while still juggling business development, non-profit fundraising, event planning, influencer marketing, branding and public relations with enthusiasm, optimism, and inspiring professionalism. Credit this to her brewing up hearty relationships with the most innovative and trendy real estate and lifestyle clients, across town and across the nation.

Attribute Marisa’s strategic background to knowing how to fuse the right mix of creativity, planning, and execution as she blends clients into the ever-progressive San Diego market. Previous gigs paid off as she applied her methodologies into creative campaigns for the San Diego Union-Tribune’s (the precursor to Pacific Magazine) mastered the ins and out of wines and spirits by running communications and events for FruitCraft Fermentary + Distillery, and directed communities while sparking major philanthropic projects to transform Hillcrest Business Association into a legacy community.

Marisa makes it her professional mission to encourage and educate business owners to embrace larger roles in social responsibility. She also works to guide genuine communications while synthesizing big picture ideas into ROI-focused results.

Outside of the office, Marisa spends her time developing her yoga practice, getting lost in a good book and boogying down at live music shows. She’s usually the go-to for restaurant and quaint neighborhood cafe recommendations. Her personal mantra to live by is “take time to make your soul happy”. Marisa is a University of California, San Diego graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.

Aleaha Gilbert

Assistant Account Executive

Endless planner. Adventurous soul. Passionately persistent.

Aleaha wields an inspired mastery of social media fused with brilliant writing skills. Before joining the Chemistry PR team, her initial stints working on behalf of Spirits of Mexico traveling events and promoting the destination of San Diego via the National City Tourism Authority gave her public relations career a great kick start.

Aleaha later ventured down the paths of hospitality, interior design and real estate public relations as she honed her skills and sharpened relationships with her self-acquired clients. One such client happened to be author/singersongwriter/artist and restaurateur Ingrid Croce. Aleaha helped Ingrid launch and manage social strategy pushing specials, events, and live music for her namesake eatery as well as the icon’s art-centric branded accounts.

When she’s OOO, you can find her on the trails with her dog, noshing her way through San Diego’s food scene, or planning her next adventure. Aleaha graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications with a focus in public relations and business.

Regina Toom

PR Assistant

Problem solver. Organizer extraordinaire. Multitasking magician.

Regina is truly the wind under Chemistry PR’s wings. She’s a living, breathing Swiss Army knife running the full table functions from social media platforms to coordinating special events to keeping media databases up to speed. If this wasn’t enough, Regina also handles office operations and vendors along with coordinating team-building programs.

A good 5,700 miles away from her Tallinn, Estonia home, Regina jumped across the pond to America to learn English and obtain a degree in business. Her infectious passion for cultivating skills and relationships has helped drive Chemistry PR forward as one of Southern California’s most celebrated public relations agencies.

Outside of work hours, Regina explores the culinary and natural wonders of San Diego—often with her frisky dog Manna at her side.
