14 May Chemistry PR is Now Hiring a PR + Social Media Intern
Located in downtown San Diego, Chemistry PR provides public relations and social media services to real estate, interior design, restaurant, hotel, and lifestyle clients. We are looking for a summer intern (with an opportunity to grow to full-time) to join our team. This position would report to our Account Executives and work collaboratively to plan, execute, and strategize client PR and social media campaigns, and provide event planning, marketing, and on-site logistical support at dozens of monthly events and grand openings. The intern will also assist and manage office and client administrative duties.
Responsibilities
- Work with account team to manage client and agency social media accounts, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn (knowledge of Meta Business Suite a plus)
- Work with account teams to create and manage monthly content calendars and posts
- Work with account teams to create branded and timely Instagram stories, reels, and TikTok videos for clients and agency
- Support account team at content photo sessions
- Cultivate and manage influencer partnerships
- Capture content during client and team events
- Provide event planning and onsite support for client grand openings and monthly events
- Write compelling e-blast and e-newsletter content, press releases and pitch letters, and scroll-stopping social media posts
- Create monthly reports for clients
- Provide administrative support for clients and agency
Experience & Qualifications
- 1 year of prior PR, social media, or digital media internship experience preferred
- Content creation skills including photography, design, and video are ideal
- Familiarity with social media platforms, design and e-blast programs such as Canva, Sprout Social and Emma, MailChimp, or Constant Contact for scheduling e-blasts, posts, and measuring ROI
- Keen eye for aesthetics and design
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Obsessive attention to detail
- Confident, hyper organized, and multi-tasking mindset
- Recently graduated or currently enrolled at a university majoring in communications, public relations, digital marketing, or journalism
- Valid driver’s license and automobile required
Time and Compensation
- This is a paid internship ($16.50/hour)
- This is a 3-month position: 28-30 hours per week, June through August; evaluation at end of internship term for full-time position based on availability and need
- This is a hybrid position; in office Tuesday & Wednesday and as needed for events and content shoots; other days are remote
- Intern office hours are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, but schedule may shift for on-site events, mostly in the evenings and an occasional weekend
